Working meeting on the project: “War - remember and do not repeat

On November 2018, Fund « Petrozavodsk » Win the president’s Grant of Russian federation of the Project implementation «Война – помнить и не повторять». The project aims is to create in the local history Museum of Pitkaranta’s city named after V.F. Sebina a full-fledged historical exposition consecrate to the Winter War 1939-1940 and the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945, as well as on the Patriotic education to young people of Pitkaranta municipal district and the city of Petrozavodsk through the participation of young people in the events designed to help them become familiar with the military of their native land. In Pitkäranta, a cycle of events is planned for residents of the city, mostly for young people, in order to familiarize them with the military background of their native land. In Pitkäranta will be held courage lessons and contest research for schoolchildren, a sports event “Ski trail of Heroes”, documentaries films shows of about the Winter War, a search game for youth “How was it?”. On December 13, the first working meeting on the project was held in the administration building in Pitkäranta . The meeting was attended by project partners from the city of Petrozavodsk and Pitkäranta, representatives of the government, museum, library, schools, as well as searchers specialists for the

Winter War of 1939-1940. and the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. The participants of the meeting were greeted by the Head of the Pitkäranta Municipal District, Dmitry Y. Troshin, who congratulated the participants and promised to support the project organizers. The Executive Director of the Petrozavodsk Foundation and the project manager Natalya Alexandrovna Vartanova told to the meeting participant about the Foundation, and the coordinator of the project, Vorobieva Anastasia Alex Androvna, introduced everyone to the planned activities of the project. Before the meeting in the Administration, everyone could visit the Cross of Grief, where many events of the project will take place. Also for the project partners from Petrozavodsk, a tour of the museum and premises was held, where in the future it is planned to create an exhibition. From December to May, the museum will carry out repairs to open the exhibition. And in January 2019 the Pitkäranta schoolchildren will begin courage lessons, the purpose of which is to acquaint schoolchildren to the events of the Winter War of 1939-1940. and the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 on the territory of the Pitkyaranta
