On October 9, the National Library of the Republic of Karelia held Pushkin Readings, which were attended by migrant children as a part of "Karelia is a world of ethnic cultures" project. 100 students from grade 5 to grade 11 from different schools of Petrozavodsk took part in the citywide reading contest called "As long as Pushkin lasts in Russia..." The event was held in celebration of the 220th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Pushkin.

Apart from the reading contest, high school students participated in the educational interactive program that tells the traditions and history of the Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum, while students from grade 6 to grade 8 were given a historic tour around creative and intellectual platforms in the Library.

The project is developed in partnership with the Ministry for Nationality and Regional Policy of the Republic of Karelia.
