‘School Museum’ Project Results Reviewing
The final event of the project ‘School Museum – a Meeting Place and a Platform for Twin City Cooperation’, implemented with the support of the Presidential Grants Foundation, was held on February 25.
The event was attended by the representatives of project partners. Among them were Derzhavinsky Lyceum, friendship associations and NGOs which working in the development of public diplomacy, Petrozavodsk city schools, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Karelia, the Ministry of National and Regional Policy of the Republic of Karelia and the Public Chamber of the Republic of Karelia.
The main purpose of the event was to present the main results of the project, as well as review the results of joint work and discuss the prospects for further cooperation. Students of Derzhavinsky Lyceum prepared video lectures for schoolchildren on public diplomacy, video excursions to the school museum of twin city relations and around Petrozavodsk, which were demonstrated at the event. The possibilities of using these materials in the educational process were also discussed. In addition, the leaflet ‘Cities are Friends’ was published. It combines the experience of developing sister cities relations in Petrozavodsk, Varkaus and Veliky Novgorod.
Printed materials will be transferred to Petrozavodsk and Karelian schools, libraries, cultural institutions, as well as partner organizations involved in the development of public diplomacy.
