Cooperation between Suoyarvi district and Kukmor district

We continue to discuss cooperation between the Suoyarvi district (Karelia) and the Kukmorsky district (Tatarstan).

In 2022, an exchange of delegations took place between the Suoyarvi district and the Kukmor district. In June 2022, a delegation from Karelia visited a school in the village of Nizhny Iskubash, where N.I. studied. Idrisov, a Tatar poet who repeated Matrosov’s feat in the Suoyarvi region during the liberation of Karelia in 1944. In July, representatives of the school came to the Suojärvi district and visited Idrisov’s grave.

This July, as part of the visit of a delegation from Karelia to the House of Friendship of Peoples of Tatarstan, a meeting was held with the school director in the village of Nizhny Iskubash, Nizhny Iskubash Ilnur Magsumovich Mullakhmetov and the head of the Historical and Local Lore Museum of the Suoyarvi District Potekhina Yulia Alekseevna. The main topic was the continuation of cooperation to preserve the memory of N.I. Idrisov. Options for joint projects and exchanges of delegations were discussed.

The trip was organized within the framework of the project “Interethnic relations in the modern world: new challenges - solutions”, implemented with the support of the Grant Fund of the Head of the Republic of Karelia.
