We continue the implementation of the project ‘Karelia Industrial’
This week we travelled to Suojärvi and together with 11th grade pupils of the Suojärvi secondary school we were the first to see a beautiful new stand installed near the ruins of the Suojärvi iron smelting plant The new stand appeared thanks to the project ‘Karelia Industrial: New Dimensions’.
The new stand appeared thanks to the project ‘Industrial Karelia: New Dimensions’. The image of the main building of the plant, which is being built over the ruins, is printed on transparent film. The author of the layout is Alexander Yursha.
Within the framework of the stand opening the head of the Historical and Local History Museum of Suoyarva district Julia A. Potekhina gave the children an excursion to the historical site, telling about the history of the Annensky iron smelting plant, as well as about the technologies of metal processing up to the XVIII century.
We would like to thank the Administration of Suojärvi Municipal District, Suojärvi Central Library and the Suojärvi District Historical and Local History Museum for installing the stand, and the Presidential Grants Fund for supporting the project.
In addition, navigation signs were installed so that no one would pass by the plant
