21 February Ksenia Chumak took part in the Educational Student Intensive ‘Industrial Tourism’ and gave a lecture ‘Development of industrial tourism through attracting grant funds
In her speech Ksenia mentioned the implementation of the projects ‘Industrial Karelia: History and Modernity’ supported by the Presidential Grants Fund and the project ‘Tourist Route “Stone Necklace of Arctic Karelia” supported by Rosmolodezh. A new project ‘Industrial Karelia: New Dimensions’ was also presented.
The main emphasis in the lecture was made on the developed routes to the objects of mountain-industrial heritage, as well as on the work on the improvement of objects and creation of tourist navigation.
In addition, Ksenia presented a new information resource - a map of Karelia's mining and industrial heritage sites, which is being developed as part of a project supported by the Potanin Foundation. The resource will be launched in the near future.
