On 19 February, the National Museum of the Republic of Karelia hosted a presentation of the project ‘Industrial Karelia: New Dimensions’
Nikolai Oskin, project manager, spoke about the main tasks and areas of work within the project. Ksenia Chumak, project coordinator, presented the project activities planned in Petrozavodsk and target districts.
Recall that the goal of the project is to create conditions for preservation and popularisation of the objects of mining and industrial history of the Republic of Karelia on the example of target districts (Medvezhegorsky and Pudozhsky).
The event was attended by representatives of the Directorate of Specially Protected Natural Areas, the Ministry of Education and Sport of Karelia, the Ministry of National and Regional Policy of Karelia, the Centre for State Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites of Karelia, the Department of Education of the Social Development Committee of the Administration of Petrozavodsk City District, the Karelian Scientific Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Centre for the Development of Social Tourism, the tour company ‘InturLeader’, the Karelian Public Diplomacy Development Foundation, the Petrozavodsk Centralised Library System, the Centre for the Development of Public Diplomacy, and the Centre for the Development of Cultural Heritage of Karelia.
